Jose Mourinho isn't exactly well known for giving too much game time to younger players and he looks set to send one of his players out temporarily to Crystal Palace in order to get him Premier League experience.
At the end of last season Crystal Palace had managed to climb their way out of any relegation potential thanks to the turn around defensively kicked off by Sam Allardyce and his bottom three Houdini act.
Surprisingly the man who managed England for a whole match decided to end his time at Selhurst Park and football management early by stepping down at the end of the season and was then replaced by Frank de Boer.
The Dutchman has so far brought in two players of note to his team, snapping up the impressive signings of Jairo Riedewald from former club Ajax and the loan signing of Ruben Loftus-Cheek from Chelsea.
Now De Boer is going to mix his signing of a former player with the signing of a double barrel named player on loan by bringing Timothy Fosu-Mensah on loan from Manchester United for the season, with the Guardian reporting he is undergoing his medical today.
The 19 year old Dutchman played under De Boer in the Ajax youth team between 2007 and 2010 and moved to England to play for the Red Devils in 2014. He made his debut for United under another Dutchman, Louis van Gaal, in 2016.
Last season Fosu-Mensah, who can play at centre back, right back or central midfield, made 11 appearances in all competitions and continued on his good work in his first season.
The move has caused many to suggest that United will be signing another full-back with Ivorian Serge Aurier strongly linked with a move to the Premier League.
Fosu-Mensah's move to south London is a good move for all involved. It will get the player more first team experience and allow him to become a better player whilst De Boer gets a very talented signing.
Double barreled names are not in vogue in Manchester right now with Cameron Borthwick-Jackson moving on loan to Leeds United.
